Thanks to my buddy Mike for holding onto a bottle of this for me. Deep amber beer with a thick tan head. Aroma is quite sweet and fruity. Light red berries and even a hint of pine/spruce tips as well. The aroma also shows a soft toasted almond nuttiness. Sweet and fruity with a lightly toasty character. Softly chewy with a good balance. Lovely brew. johnnnniee (4312) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 9, 2011
Pours a dark brown with nice ruby/orange highlights. Stingy off white head dissipates quickly. Smells of toffee almost butterscotch. Some spices and alcohol in the nose as well. Taste is grainy malty toffee, blended with some holiday spices. Lingering nutmeg and alcohol in the finish. Very dry finish. Body is medium mouthfeel is sticky carbonation is crisp. Taste is a bit sweet and the alcohol a bit to present. Overall not a bad brew, just not remarkable either. Jow (3924) - New York, USA - FEB 21, 2011
On tap at Lucky Dog tavern in Plymouth, NH. Pours a standard copper color. tatse is of caramel, raisin, earth, and some malt. slightly watery I thought it was standard amber ale no idea it was 9%. Dark brown pour with red tints, beige head that left good thick lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, roasted malt, and citrus. Flavor is very sweet, with molasses, dark fruit and a bit of nuttiness. A hint of hops in the finish. A nice smooth mouthfeel, although a bit watery. The 9 % ABV is hidden well, Thank you AirForceHops. It was a nice afternoon treat.

No surprise winter ale. Light chestnut, good sized tan head. Sweet malts, winter spiced ale notes of dried fruit and sweet spices, but some distinct American hops as well, especially in the finish. Drinkable, not remarkable, but perhaps my favorite from Woodstock. halfonit (1366) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 6, 2008
Not a bad brew at all. Has hints of burnt caramel in it for the scent. Nice beer , Near perfect after taste. BroSpud (2188) - , Massachusetts, USA - MAY 25, 2009
Draft at brewpub. Multiple tastings. I have had everything they have to offer as we come here often for dinner while in the area. As with their food, the beer is OK but nothing spectacular. In fact, most of their beers are in my opinion, sub-par. This is the one I would consider to be their best. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 27, 2009
12oz bottle. Hazy copper body with small beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, raisin, grapefruit, some vinous. Taste is moderately sweet, raisin, caramel, some grapefruit, light plum, alcohol warming. Medium body, some stickiness. philvil (176) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 6, 2010
UPDATED: MAY 2, 2010 this was much better on cask at the brewery. from the bottle it is just ok. update... three months of aging improved this quite a bit. this is a beer that needs a little time for the sweet flavors to catch up to the hops
