Pours deep dark purple red clear with slight amount of foamy tannish head. Aroma is syrupy sweet with lots of nuttiness and dark fruits. Flavor reminds me of a dark cherry slurpee. Dark cherry sweetness dominates with lots of buttery caramel flavor. Bit of a boozy medicinal edge. Overall, just so so. ToadMan (559) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - JAN 9, 2004
Very hazy brownish orange color. Roasted malty aroma, very sweet, overpoweringly so. Hints of spices and a slight bitter finish. Lubiere (14240) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 7, 2011
A deep copper amber ale with a thick moka head. In aroma, butterscotch, oily and cloying. In mouth, a sweet nutty and musty malt with light nutmeg, vanilla, oily, cloying. On tap at Sunset Grill, Jan. 16 2011. BitchesBrew (716) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JAN 5, 2008
[bottle] Malty aroma, with some concerning butterscotch elements. Reddish amber color, clear, with a tiny ring of bubbles. Flavors are full of malt power and some considerable bitterness, but any real unique character seems to be overpowered by the Ringwood... Not a bad beer, I personally have a hard time getting past the dominant yeast character. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 13, 2009
on tap-pours a dissipating tan head and copper/red color. Aroma is medium fruit, spice, some medium malt. Taste is spice, tart fruit-cherry/apple.
