A very nice charred malt aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. flavor was barely sweet on the start and finished with a nice charred malt, almost roasted marshmallow bitter finish. very tasty. the body was a little watery, but overall, a very enjoyable beer.

Pours a dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma is roast and subtle chocolate notes. Flavor is lighter on the roast and the chocolate is barely there. Has a dry mouthfeel, with some bitterness. This is okay.

Aroma: Smelling of bread, sweet fruits, chocolate and egg.
Appearance: A hazy chestnut colored beer. A off-white head with some lacing and good curtains.
Taste: Tasting sweet bread, sherry, raisins, apricot marmalade and custard
Palate: Medium low carbonation, a soft and oily texture. A big body with a slightly dry finish.
Overall: Very nice, good with hard cheeses.
Note: Bottle 650 ml. Reviewed 2013-09-24.

I’ve got this in tap at the brewpub in royal oak. It pours a classic porter dark brown with almost no aroma. The flavor is OK, but nothing to write home about. Overall, it’s alright with a meal, but I’m pretty dissapointed with this hometown brew. Oh well.

BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - AUG 10, 2009
MiBG Summer fest 2009, Saturday session: (My next to last beer of the fest, I already posted the last beer which was the awful Kid Rock brew. ) This has almost a purple tint to the brown hue with a good beige head. The aroma is plum, raisin, chocolate, coffee, walnut and a hint of herbal hops. The taste is basic the same with fruity and chocolate tones and a slight hop and coffee finish. The mouth feel is lively and clean. It’s a porter but nothing a seek out.

On tap at the ’08 MBG festival. Dark beer with a small beige head. Subtle roast nose. This is a flavorful roasted malt porter with some coffee notes and a grassy hop finish.

Not to impressed with this beer... nice coffe aroma and taste however watery mouthfeel... more hops and malt would be helpful

Pretty mediocre porter. Pours blackish brown with a small tan head. Aroma is what you would expect from a porter (roasted malts, touch of coffee, etc.) but it’s real weak. Same with the flavor. Mouthfeel is good, decent body, just a touch on the thin side.
