COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Reddish-gold hazy unfiltered brew. Pungent aroma of citrus, floral spice, and grapefruit. Decidedly bitter palate with a medium light body. Flavors of hoppy grapefruit give way to a dry finish. Our Hop Back and Double Dry Hop process ensure aromatics that are in your face coupled with an obscene amount of kettle hops that should make all bitter beer fans and hop heads love Wormtowns Be Hoppy I.P.A.!

Once upon a time I hunted this beer. That beer is no more and so with this new review Ive finally come to terms with the evolution of a longtime favorite. Ive been buying this since the early days of the Be Hoppy bombers. Found each release a touch different, but delicious. Loved the cans... the YELLOW cans! I gave them a few releases with the new brewer and brewery to dial this back in, but they havent and presumably wont as this newer profile has been surprisinly consistent though much less enjoyable. So without further complaint, heres my review of the new Be Hoppy. This applies to the Black Cans and any and all draft releases and of course the new??? six pack bottles. Dont even get me started on them reverting to bottles, but small ones, sigh. The aroma is surprisingly malty, with vague hints of caramel malt and very subtle floral/earthy hops. The flavor is similar with some decent bitterness but pretty much zero hop flavor beyond the initial fairly meager grapefruit. The beer feels very thin, lacks any lingering bitterness or flavor in the finish and seems to have parted ways with the layer of well balanced roasted barley. This beer used to be borderline chewy, aromatic and flavorful, but now lacks all three...

Canned at SBWF. Clear deep golden, coarse head. Rich passion fruit aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Lots of passion fruit, elderflowers and grapefruit. Zesty and hoppy with mid bitter finish. Quite nice hop profile, neutral malt base.

A great clean and floral hoppy aroma. It had a mostly hoppy, but balanced flavor and very smooth and drinkable. This is an ideal IPA.

One of the best IPAs I've ever had nice and lemony very aromatic, cool label pours with small head good rich palate. Good citrus bitter and sour early aftertaste and pleasant mild zest after. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
