Wormtown’s first Double IPA is Freakin’ Unbelievable. Brewed with 3# of hops per barrel including two new varieties Citra and Sorachi. Golden orange in color FUIPA starts with a light tropical grapefruit nose. The medium light body reveals bitter orange bitterness blended with alcohol and continues to slight malt undertones. Lingering bitterness is highlighted by tropical citrus flavors. Hop aroma, hop bitterness, and hop flavor in a 10.1% abv 110 IBU beer.

It poured a cloudy, orangey amber color. The flavor up front was like Fruity Pebbles, and in the finish you get some hop bitterness and boozy warmth. It had a syrupy mouthfeel. "Freakin’ Unbelievable" is one way to put it...

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Thanks to Ang. It’s got a great aroma, some toffee, not too bitter in mouth and good hop though mabe a touch too sweet. Good aroma.

Piney hoppy dominance on the aroma. Copper in color with clear-white soap-like bubbles. Super malty w buttery finish before the hops kick in, giving a mouth-coating citrus flavor. Notes: On Cask (I think at GBBF? Forget)

Cask Stillage at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 05/08/2010 Big hop aroma. Amber golden coloured very hoppy and fruity with a pine flavour. Nutty dry and bitter in the finish.

5th August 2010. GBBF.
Hazy brown beer. Little suddy tan head. Smooth and fairly lo carbonation palate. Rich caramal malt - slightly syrupy. Piney sweet hops. Sweet pineapple and some subtle citrus. A warming dry finish. Pretty full on IPA - could do with some fresher hop flavours but it’s pretty good.

[email protected] Hazy amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruits, wood, alcohol and some rather bready malts. Flavour is grass, fruits, wood, alcohol and some very pleasantly balanced hoppyness.

From cask. Pours cloudy dark orange with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma is caramelish and mild grapefruity. Sweet caramelish, a bit cloying. Quite fruity, citrusy, peachy and dominantly grapefruit. Bitter and sweet finish. Dry into the far finish.

Half of my Dave at GBBF. Hazy amber, no head. Strong sweet leather and flower nose, very artificial smelling, like fake chocolate covered rum-plums. Tastes like honeyed Diesel. Very bitter end. Maybe a tad to strong, my tongue is still peeling.
