From notes. Had in line while waiting for order forms at Dark Horse for the 4 Elf Party on December 9. 22 oz bottle shared by ebone1988. The pour is a darker brown with a thin cap of darker tan head and no lace. The aroma is fake. All fake coconut and sunscreen. I’m not liking that at all. There is a light roasted malt, some light chocolate, but they all fail in comparison to the fake coconut. The flavor is much of the same. The coconut seems a little less fake, but it is still rough. The chocolate, roast, and a light maltiness come through a little more so. The mouth feel is a touch light and softly carbonated with a lingeringly sweet fake coconut that lasts forever. Not that great.

Bottle thanks to Nathan. Aroma is coconut, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee. Appearance is dark dark brown, light brown head, poured thin. Taste is coconut, chocolate, roasted malt, toasted coconut, nice but thin. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, coconut aftertaste. Overall, tasty, although thin.

Opaque. Full body, oily texture, moderate flavor, good heat and carbonation, long aftertaste. Bitter, off-dry. Complex roast flavors, chocolate masking coconut. Bottom line: delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to Team Florida. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong coconut, cocoa, and roast. Medium mouthfeel with strong coconut milk, roast, cocoa, lactose really overpowered this one

Sampled at Mass Brewers Fest ’14. Poured dark brown/black with a thin off white ring. Oatmeal, milk chocolate and coconut on the aroma. Sweet milk chocolate on the flavor with a substantial amount of coconut. Hints of vanilla bean. Medium bodied with a lactic creaminess. By far my favorite beer of the afternoon. My only regret was there were no bottles left for purchase by the time I dragged myself away from the tasting area.

22oz bottle in a teku. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, toasted coconut, some light dough, and hints of bitterness. Flavor the same, but there’s some off flavor and I’m not really sure what it’s from. Average to smoother texture. A cool beer, but could be refined into something way better. Also, not sure on the freshness of the bottle if that makes a difference.

bottleforager (3211) - Gray, Maine, USA - JAN 26, 2014
Pours a burnt umber color with a finger or two of eggshell foam. The nose is earthy ash, muttled cocoa and traces of coconut. The palate follows with a bit of duality in the palate. Nice almond joy undertones with balanced flavors of cocoa and coconut mingling with a nutty maltiness. However it drinks a bit thin and the finish is abrupt and turns a bit strange.

Sells and tastes like almond joy bars. Pours a rich brown color with tan head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
