Production moved from White Shield brewery to William Worthington’s brewery in December 2010. Prodiuction moved to the main Coors brewery in Burton in 2012 to keep up with increasing demand.
Ingredients: Halcyon barley, from the northern part of Norfolk; Sugar; Northdown and Challenger hops - including a hop extract; and a two-strain yeast supplied by Bass.
"It has a clean, fresh flavour and full bodied, balanced bitterness." Michael Jackson.
An iconic India Pale Ale (IPA) brewed to the same recipe as 1830. Aromatic hops, toasted cereal notes and hints of smoke and spice kindle White Shield’s embracing nose, enhanced by fragrant fruity characters and an intricate top-note of freshly baked bread. With time to condition, William Worthington’s unique dual yeast works up a sharp sparkle, crafting a full luxurious mouth-feel that combines with warming hints of alcoholic liqueur and White Shield’s ever so subtle peppery character, to create an exquisite bittersweet finish.

Prima Engelse ale maar verder niet echt soepel. Beetje te smeeuigheid voor mijn smaak

darioklc (784) - Karlovac, CROATIA - JUN 14, 2016
Pivo brončane boje, sa gustom prljavo bijelom pjenom. Dosta karbonizirana pa podriguješ ko lud. Slabi miris borovine. Iako piše na etiketi nešto i IPAi ovo je tipični primjerak engleskog bittera sa gorkim finishom u okusu.

Bought in supermarket, fancy bottle design and sticker. Weak aroma, instable foam and watered taste. Attractive golden colour though. Would not recommend it to experienced IPA drinkers.

ForlornHope (523) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2016
Bottle at home, supermarket bought. Pours amber in colour, with a larger and rockier head than I expected. Settles to a nice collar of foam. The typical aroma of nutty, slightly peppery hop and sweet malt. Taste is a little sweet to start, then nicely bitter. Lots of flavour - sappy malt, peppery hop, some herbal bitterness and slight, fino sherry finish. Smooth and drinkable, but nicely carbonated. Very nice indeed.

Bozo_skeleton (1157) - Grenoble, FRANCE - APR 30, 2016
Tres legerement ambrée, grosse carbo, collet moyen persistant. Aromes plus porté sur le caramel et sur les céréales. Amertume bien presente mais assez discrete et sans le cote citronne ou exotique des versions americaines. Bel equilbre, bien agreable

MarkoNm (2742) - Novo mesto, SLOVENIA - APR 15, 2016
Pours a clear, dark amber color, topped with a medium sized and creamy head, just off-white. Nice retention. Mild biscuity malt aroma with a bit of grassiness in the back. Moderately sweet. Biscuity malt with some caramel presence and a mild hoppy bitterness in the finish. Medium light body. Ok.

JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - APR 3, 2016
Light umber color with thick, taller light beige head. Herbal to floral aromas, with mild floor, pale malt backdrop. Lightly sweet with a toffee and dough flavors. A traditional pale ale. 5/12

Trolleo (1566) - Pula / Zagreb, CROATIA - APR 2, 2016
Clearest ever body, coppery red to peachy color, head is big during the pouring, but disappears immediately after. Looks like soap for hand wash. Aroma of alcohol and malt. Taste is like some chemistry, malt and lots of caramel. Slightly hoppy finish. Watey, average carbonation. Unbalanced, that artificial sweet taste is kicking me right in the middle of my face. Barely drinkable. Overrated. //bottle from Konzum

Iznogud (3805) - CROATIA - MAR 26, 2016
Bottle, 500 ml at Mojo, Zagreb. Pours amber with small off-white head. Caramel malty, some fruity notes. Some bitterness in finish. Light to medium bodied. Quite boring.
