Clean, crisp and refreshing. A tribute to our friends at Indie Hops, this amazingly balanced beer is bursting with the finest hops Oregon has to offer: Nugget, Centennial, Meridian, Crystal and Horizon. Renowned for his IPAs, Chad just raised the bar.

UXO (1896) - CANADA - APR 26, 2017
Appearance: slightly hazy pale amber with two fingers of fluffy ivory head, excellent retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: citrus, pine, caramel, tropical fruit, floral. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (3/5) So, straight to the obvious: is it worthy? Yeah, sure, OK - barely. It’s not quite a turn of the century A/IPA, but it’s not far off it. The aromas and flavours tend to the traditional, with caramel malt not exactly dominant, but emphatically present. On the other hand, the bitterness is more modern. (On yet another hand, I think the brewers have been sampling some other botanicals from Oregon: "And find yourself wrapped in the flower-laiden side arms of Oregon’s lovely hop maidens." is an actual sentence from the label. Oookay then.) Maybe I’m being a little unfair and it’s actually better fresh, but since they don’t date the bottles, who knows? (14/20) 7/10 #ryansbooze ryansbooze.com

Bottle. Fresh tropical fruit/grapefruit aroma. Cloudy golden in colour with a frothy white head and good amount of carbonation. Crisp citrus bitter flavours with a touch of bready malt notes. Medium body. Strong bitter finish. Very drinkable.

[24/12/15] Can from Happy Valley Supermarket in Portland, OR: Golden body with bighead. Nose is hoppy, floral. Taste of lots of hops and some citrus. Nice texture with fruits again in the finish.

kyzr (1578) - Montana, USA - AUG 23, 2016
Slight cloud dark gold pour with decent white head. Nose of citrus, tropical fruit, and some melon with a touch of malt. Flavor has a bigger bite of hops than the nose leads. Nice balance of malt to hop.

Can. Amber beer with a cream head. Light grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit nd light pine flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and light pine linger with light malt.

Slightly cloudy, nice balance of hops and malt. Slight bitter aftertaste. This was from a can but I’ve also had it on tap at the brewery and all their beer is good.

colui72 (1058) - HONG KONG - JUL 4, 2016
UPDATED: OCT 20, 2016 Pours hazy orange, without head and no lacing. Aroma is malts, pine and citrus. Taste has a malty character, with a good fruit balance (grapefruit, mango), resin and a hoppy finish. Tasty and medium bodied. Very enjoyable IPA, more British than West Coast style.

teamsale (273) - Washington, USA - JUN 25, 2016
Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a thin off-white head and good lacing. Smells of pine and olives. Tastes clean and crisp with flavors of citrus. Lingering bitterness but not overwhelming. Decent aftertaste. Well balanced.

hayduke (5550) - Eureka, California, USA - JUN 20, 2016
Shared with Strykzoen on Facebook Chat. Poured amber with a white head and thick lacing. Nose is caramel malts, citrus, tropical fruit, and some melon; with a nice complex fruity flavor. Medium body and a smooth mouth feel. . The finish is a citrus zest bitter. Very easy drinking. Simply excellent.

Strykzone (7430) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 20, 2016
12 ounce can from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. A big off white head leaves a layer of thick lace. The beer is cloudy honey golden. A well balanced aroma with pale malts and complex fruits. The flavor is also balanced but fruit leads by a nose. Tropical and citrus flavors. Something like applesauce, oranges, tangerines, and somehow a Saison feel to it but generally a classic west coast IPA. Very easy to drink but it might not be very fresh.
