Old rating, Amber color, earth, caramel, decent hop bite. Some what roasty. Not bad, but nothing to seek. JHeath99 (1678) - Warner Robins, Georgia, USA - MAR 1, 2014
Tap from Lazy Dog. Pours a dark amber with a ring of off white head. Aroma of off nuts and roasty goodness. Taste starts off bitter with a caramel compliment. Westmeister (2129) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Draft sampler. Pours an amber brown with a nice beige head. Smell is caramel, earth, roasted malts Taste has hints of coffee grinds, chocolate bits, medium sweet, light fruity. The taste was all over the board, but still pretty nice. GTAEgeek (2217) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - APR 28, 2013
On tap in a flight at the brewpub. Dark, hazy, opaque brown color, with a small, beige head. Very toasty, with some pine hops and herbs. Mild flavor, with a roasted bitterness coming through in the finish. Medium body, with a lively mouthfeel, and astringent - in a good way. Overall, this is a weak, flavorless beer. The palate is good, but the aroma and flavor are lacking. Imaena (2322) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - APR 18, 2013
Draught. This is a nice solid amber with some nice malty bitterness.

Amber pour with creamy tan head and lace. Caramel malt, resiny, and some almost chocolate tones. Sweet caramel, resiny hops, and again what I take as light chocolate. Smooth with good carbonation. Nice beer. Cybercat (5833) - Georgia, USA - MAR 29, 2013
Gotta love the homage. This one comes out of the tap a dark, reddish amber bordering on mahogany with a thick, fine-bubbled, light tan head. Strong, malty aroma has an overtone of clove and earthy and woody hints. Scrumptious, delightful flavor is more complex than most ales I have sampled - malty and slightly woody core supports clove, hoppy, nutty and earthy tones. This is an ale to be sipped and savored for its own sake, not chugged during a game! Firm texture is quite lively with a fairly sturdy fizz, leaving sweet malty, earthy and hoppy touches. One of the best ales I have ever enjoyed, maybe even the best! bytemesis (8384) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAR 8, 2013
Tap. Pours clear reddish amber with a medium beige head; creamy with great lacing. Aroma is caramel and faint pine. Flavor is the same, quite malty body with a faint bitter citrus finish. Full bodied and creamy. Not bad, but I wish it had the aroma in the description. yespr (45443) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 6, 2013
From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity hoppyand light toasted malty. Smooth fruity, crisp grapefruity and peachy. Light toasted malt base. Bitter and lingering fruity finish. rbrazell (1698) - Florida, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Draft at Brewpub. Amber pour with a white head. Toffee and toasted bread aroma with spicy and piney hops. Toffee and caramel malts up front with a big bitter spicy and piney hop end. Pretty good with an unexpected ending.
