Würzburger Hofbräu Premium Pilsner has been the undisputed market leader in its core area of Lower Franconia for decades. It is brewed from the very best raw materials; it is elegant and delicately bitter in taste. In terms of sales focus, this beer comes top of our list. The classic visual appearance of the product is a defining element of our overall brand, Würzburger Hofbräu, and therewith of our company's whole image.

Flasche (Würzburger Hofbräu Pilsener, 33 cl) vom Bahnhofskiosk Würzburg. - Goldgelb, blank.

On tap from 5L mini keg pours crystal clear gold with 2 finger head. Nose is crisp corn, soft grain, touch of grassyness. Taste is crisp, snappy, nice balanced medium bitterness, corn, grain, potato, wheat bread, crust. Finishes with nice lingering balanced bitterness, all the earthy grain, touches of light grassyness and faintest hints of citrus you want from a pilsner while being overall balanced, refreshing, and superbly drinkable.

Good , classic pilsner. Golden color . Surprisingly weak head as for German beer. Malt and grass in aroma. Taste follows the aroma with refreshing, hoppy bitterness.

Piw (1249) - Rüsselsheim, GERMANY - DEC 19, 2015
500ml Flasche. Klar und golden. Mittelgrosse, poröse Schaumkrone. Sehr mildes Pils. Erfrischend. Runder Ausklang.

3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2015
Bottle best by June 2016, pours clear gold with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma is lemon, herbs, mineral water, faint soap, with quiet Pilsner malt expressed as dried crackers and toasted grain. Light bodied, lightly sweet to off-dry, moderately bitter, soft malt texture, fluffy effervescence, cleanly fermented with solid finishing bitterness and a lingering herbal-pepper-thyme quality. Lemon-y and oily and juicy and quite bitter, it’s certainly Franconian in character. The noble hop aroma and finish quality are quite good, there’s no defects at all, flavor balance is enjoyable, I just wish the aroma had more oomph.

330 ml bottle. Pours a light golden color with a moderate frothy white head. Nose is mostly light grain with a touch of noble hops. Flavor mirrors the nose. Some metallic spicy hops in finish. Wurzburger brews some outstanding beers including their wonderful Christmas Festbier, Julius Echter Weissbiers and Sympator Doppelbock. This pales in comparison.

BBD 2/16. Pours a clear golden. World class head volume, retention and lacing. Outstanding light pilsner nose. A touch of noble hops and hints of lemon over a subtle grainy biscuit. Light medium body with a smooth texture. Superb carbonation with a nice burst of effervescence in the middle a finely bubbled rush in the finish. The flavor profile is almost world class. It is moderate in intensity, slightly complex and perfectly balanced. It begins with a slight noble hop flavor, more herbal than spicy, that flows into a mild subdued bitterness. The middle allows a light grainy biscuit to achieve balance. As the finish approaches, lemon notes are evident. The finish is crisp.
