Medium-sized creamy head, dark-red almost black clear body. Aroma is sweet and raisin-like. Deep, dry toffee/raisin taste, which in the aftertaste dries up. An excellent schwarzbier. Taste could have lingered longer, though. (0.5l bottle.) BlackHaddock (7583) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2012
Brown 500ml bottle, best before 17 Dec 2010, my second beer during my 2 July 2010 German beer evening. Poured (twice) into my ’Paderborner’ tall vase shaped glass.
Dark brown with reddy hints with a thick tan head.
The aroma was of burnt/roasted/toasted malts with semi-sweet molasses as it warmed.
The taste was malty, but a little dry up front, the dryness continueing throughout the mouthfeel.
I thought the body a bit thin, but I always do with German black beers, they just seem to lack character where they most need it and have very little richness or depth.

Bottle (50 cl) from Toom Getränkemarkt, Würzburg, Germany. Dark copper, medium fluffy beige head. Roasted coffee malta aroma with some caramelly and earthy notes. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dry finish. A solid Schwarzbier. Emil (6064) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 14, 2007
Bottle. A deep red beer with a big beige head. The aroma and taste is light roasted, dusty, of raisins and caramel malt. Medium body with a dry finish.

Again in Würzburg. The pils was good so I gave the Scharzbier a tumble. Poured nearly black with a big brown head. Nose of heavy malt witih a hint of chocolate and coffee. Very good in the mouth, and smooth going down. A very excellent example of the type.

Bottle @ brewery tap Wurzburg. Nice brown-black but they served in a pils glass and it looks funny. Smells like a Malta. Slightly fizzy and thin. Sweet but nice. ThomasE (5174) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 21, 2008
Deep reddish colour with a dense beige head. Malty, dark fruity aroma with a light bread note. Malty, light roasted flavor with notes of fruit and bread. RichardGretton (4772) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 6, 2007
Bottle. Black beer with a slight head. The aroma is lightly roasted and the flavour is malty, lightly roasted and slightly dry. Overall a nice beer. Geiserich (4576) - Linz, AUSTRIA - SEP 22, 2006
Bottled: Black color, few, off-white foam. Aroma is roasty-malt with light sweet coffee notes. Flavor is sourly and salty, some grain notes. Dry in the end with some roasty notes. Astringent finish. vipinvelp (4510) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - APR 3, 2016
