Hätte ja gedacht, das ist ein Porter, vielleicht sogar ein Baltic. Denn schlank, obwohl mit öliger Textur gesegnet, geht’s stabil hoppy zu Werke, das Gute. Pflaumentwister mit Edelbiercharme. Röst, Kaffee und Schoko küssen die Säurewirbel der britischen Insel. Elegant & Good. 0,5l Bottle im STRONGBOWs zu Kiel genossen. Ca. 5 Kröten.

0,5l bottle. Dark ruby, almost black color with nice beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and light chocholate. . Taste of smoked, roasted malt, medium bitterness. A little too bitter aftertaste for me.

500ml bottle, in spite of the lack of any memorable aroma, my initial impression was very good, nice black colour, no foam, just a bit of bubbles, taste is a little sweet and creamy but quickly fades to a bitter one. A little too bitter for my taste.

500 ml bottle as: Black Wych ( A Dark Mysterious Spellbinding Porter) 5.0%. Inky black, fading tan foam. Aroma of dark roasted malt. Taste is a bit harsh, dark roast, with some bittersweet dark chocolate. Soft carbonation, medium bodied, lightly hopped. DNFL (Definitley Not For Lagerboys)

500ml bottle from Morrison’s Stevenston, sampled on the 20th November 2016. Poured into chalice glass. Black ruby in colour with a buff head. Malty aroma with notes of treacle toffee. Thin creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malts give a maltloaf base with treacle toffee coming through, Very dry dusty bitter bite to the hoppy aftertaste which rather takes away from the malt component. Finish is malty with sweet molasses present in the mouth, along with dry black malt right at the end. A decent session stout.

Bottle. Pours deep dark brown with small brownish head. Aroma: milk chocolate, roasted, hay, some sourness, metallic, bad cold coffee. Taste: bitter, roasted, dark chocolate, some sourness, metallic. Thin plus body. watery. Ok.

(500ml bottle, Beijing) AROMA: Light nose of dark chocolate, some herbs/grass, APPEARANCE: Deep and dark, coffee colored, oily head that is part fine foam and part bubbles, lingering dirty/clingy foam. TASTE: black coffee, burnt toast, fair amount of dry grain/hay/malt, quite bitter on the backend with a bit of medicinal cough syrup. PALATE: solid amount of body with a surprising spritzy middle, dry finish. OVERALL: Not a bad beer but just an average porter. Strenghts are they way it looks in the glass and the upfront coffee/chocolate flavors. Weakness would be its overly fizzy middle that takes away from the smoothness. Worth trying and discussing with friends.

50cl bottle. Black with light brown toffie head. The beer has a medium intensive aroma of chocolate, roasted grains and some dairy and metallic, mineral aromas. The taste isn’t overwhelming but well rounded and easy to drink. I would prefer more depth tho.

deep dark brown colour, huge, dense and stable beige head; aroma of milk chocolate, slightly burnt plum jam, some raisins and toasted rye bread;taste is the same; a bit watery, which is fully acceptable for a simple stout; easily drinkable and really enjoyable
