bartholos (256) - GERMANY - JUN 30, 2015
Tap. Dark amber colored with a creamy, tan longlasting head. The nose starts off fruity along with some toasty maltiness. Taste start mild and slightly sweet and turn more and more bitter till the finish. The fruity flavor stays but gets domanited by the bitterness at some point. The body is light to medium as is the carbonation. Very easy drinking.

Ruby brown color with aroma of fruits. First taste was nice mild, bitterness slowly appears. Unfortunatelly, wouldn’t drink it again.

Cask at The Mulberry Leaves, Leek (Marstons) A clear ruby brown colour with a creamy off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, subtle dark fruits and spice. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, toffee, some cherry and spicy hops. Medium bodied and quite smooth, little cold though. A roasted spiciness in the finish. A standard dark ale but smooth and tasty.

On tap at Pit & Pendulum, Nottingham. Pours a ruby red in colour, with decent single finger off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, chocolate, coffee, and some earthiness. Taste is much the same with some light hoppy bitterness. A great go to beer if there’s nothing else on.
