UPDATED: NOV 4, 2016 Bottle, From memory(s). Dark brown colour. The recipe has changed over the years, but i find the bottled version of this beer overly thin, stale and having a short lived flavour. Some middle of the road roasty flavour, toffee, malty but rather average.

Opaque black with a ruby lustre and a frothy white head. Cocoa, roast, caramel, and vanilla present in the aroma. Mid bodied with an extremely smooth and silky texture. Rather tedious beer. Roast, chocolate, caramel and dried fruit are detectable, but they are rather stunted. Slight bitter roast finish. Stupendous palate, but the remainder is lacking.

Im sure this is a very traditional one, but I find it very unbalanced. Harsh bitterness at the end that is not pleasant. And the malty aftertaste vanishes instantly. Its an OK bitter, but nothing amazing.

Not bad for a bottled beer. Never the same as a cask ale but for a night in front of the television then it’s a nice ale

Bit of a weird one this. Quite unmistakeable but not altogether pleasant. Lots of treacle on the nose and taste but it always seems quite artificial, almost plasticity. Strong and robust though.

500ml bottle the Boneyard Bingo edition. Love the bottle graphic design. Aroma is green apples and hard candy. Pours clear ruby brown with a small off white head that goes down fast and leaves minimal lacing. Taste is malty caramel and burnt brown sugar, a bit sour and with a minimum bitterness in the finish. Not much carbonation but it’s there. Does no feel watery but I would not call it full either, fine for a brown ale. Overall I did not enjoy it this time as much as I did a while back, either my taste has evolved odleg?o?ci the beer got worse (it could always be a bad bottle)

Donker robijnrood van kleur, 1 vinger hoge crèmekleurige schuimkraag, wazig, weinig koolzuur. Aroma: Moutig, toffee, karamel, licht chocolade, licht citrus en licht fruitig. Smaak: Donkere mouten, biscuit/brood, toffee,  iets chocolademouten, zoete graanmouten, bitter en prikkelig/netelig/floraal. Medium body, matig koolzuur, zacht en romig mondgevoel, afdronk is fruitig bitter.
