legendary british ruby beer; a dark yet direct brew with a lovely malt base and warming mild bite, much more so than it’s casked counterpart. another go-to british brew.

Slightly notes of chocolate, and the english hops. Fine instead of a pilsener.

Bottle from Merchants. For the book. Aroma is caramel, dark fruit, woody, earthy hops, toffee, sweet and balanced. Appearance is dark brown red, light tan pillowy head, somewhat hazy. Taste is caramel, bitter, toffee, dark fruit, woody, raisins, slight coffee, earthy, very nice. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy body, light carbonation, earthy caramel dark fruit bitter aftertaste. Overall, I am really enjoying this one. Hard to find an ESB with this much body.
