3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Golden color, medium body with white small head. Aroma is hops and grass. Bitter taste with mild sourness and small malty sweetness.
Pours yellow gold from the bottle. Thin white frothy head. Aroma is caramel, grains. Taste is sweet up front. A mild, grainy bittersweet arises at the finish. A bit rough and uneven. Body is light to medium. Not much on its own but does well with food. Finished the second half of the glass with smoked Schinken, which it complemented very nicely. Poured from 500ml bottle(room temp) medium gold with a fairly large head of foam that dissipated slowly, leaving a fine layer.
The smell when I opened the bottle had an initial air of skunkiness but that settled down quickly leaving a kind of malty nose with some nutty notes.
The taste has some malt up front but then, a rather citrusy hoppy bitter flavour moves in and it's a bit harsh on the tongue. The finish also has that harsh bitterness to it..hmm...maybe I'm not a fan of Target hops(as per label).
Bottom line: I like a lot of UK brews and appreciate the fact that they can make a flavourful beer with rather low abv %s but..this is one that I won't make a habit of buying. I'll blame the hops. :^(
Clean light amber colour, small white head. Aroma of malt, grassy hops, some citrus and grain, biscuits. Dry sweet taste with light bitterness in finish. Thin body and average carbonation. Not bad. Marko (6183) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - JUL 22, 2017
Bottle. Amber body, white head, low retention. Metallic notes in the aroma, light maltiness... Taste... Metallic, stale dull fruity touches. Messy, just not enjoyable. Ew. mandrilo00 (161) - CROATIA - MAY 26, 2017

Beer with gold color, light body, medium bitterness, good volume of foam, average carbonized, (bought a 50cl bottle in Tesco supermarket @ OC Eden, Praha, CZ). DraftDodger (1739) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 11, 2017
Copenhagen 11/3 2017. 50 cl bottle from Skjold Burne. A not very frightening Scarecrow standing among the Barley and Hops on the label. For some reason they are calling it a "Golden Pale Ale". Pours bubbly golden yellow with white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Aroma is not very intense. Sweet malts and cardboard with light notes of citrus. Medium carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by dry bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with semi dry finish. A little thin but refreshing - and nicely bitter. Bottle from Booths, Clitheroe. Golden with a thin head. Has a dry but understated pale ale texture. There’s some hops in nose, a hint of fruit in its taste, but it’s all understated once again. josanguapo (1974) - SPAIN - DEC 28, 2016
From elcervecero. In Ikea’s pint glass. After dinner. Fresh, refreshing, zesty, with a moreish dry finish and very pleasant herbal bitterness/spicyness notes. One of Wychwood best offerings and with difference the best brew with the label "organic" Ive had. ChadPoole (479) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 9, 2016
Pours clear gold with a white head. Faint aroma of hops. Kind of bland tasting, has some hops and malts, but it just doesn’t deliver.
