COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly available bottle conditioned. Occasionally available on cask.
The fields of barley ripening in the sunshine; the hops climbing up the bines in late summer... It was sights like these that inspired Dorothy to create her Country Ale.
Made with all-natural ingredients, it’s a must for any discerning drinker who savours the summer and cares about the countryside.
This strong, full-bodied ruby ale can be enjoyed on its own or as a partner to red meat dishes, cheeses and even rich steamed puddings.

Joeh (2049) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2004 Bottled conditioned from Wycombe Wines, High Wycombe, Bucks. (500ml). A decent ale with a variety of flavours, and some underlying roastiness.

Poured from a 1pt .9 fl oz brown bottle into a nonic glass. Nearly opaque copper colour with lots of chill haze, a thin layer of beige foam, and sticky lace. Aromas of sweet malts, caramel candies, molasses, orange marmalade. Flavours: rich malt sweetness, well-balanced by woodsy/earthy hops, toffee, toast, roasted nuts, freshly baked whole-wheat bread, dried apricots, a sweet and juicy plum, faint chocolate and coffee notes. Some pleasant oxidation--I’m pretty sure this bottle had been sitting there quite awhile--but it works with this English Strong Ale style. Well-concealed, alcohol, smooth and warming. A very tasty English ale overall.

Pours coppery with a tiny beige head. Caramel and berries in the nose. Flavor is caramel, a bit of roast, and a long bitter finish.

Ruby with a weak tan head. Sweet floral aroma, some licorice. Disappointing flavor. Decent but not exceptional. Great label but not a great beer.

2011, bruine kleur, helder, ruikt en smaakt een beetje als een stout, rook en koffie, bitter, zoet, beetje mout.

weaselkenievil (1608) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 16, 2009
Amber with medium white head. Aroma is malts, caramel, touch of smoke / tobacco. And a definite hint of cheap hot dog. More tobacco in flavour, more malts and caramel, some spice, little alcohol burn. Thin mouthfeel.

Amber haze colour with creamy white head. Visualy medium carbonation. Aroma without notice of an alcohol:you can detect fruity-floral notes with sweetness of malts. Taste is the same, finish slightly dry. Malt sweetness is medium, also hop bitterness. Proper beer for its style.
