COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned. AKA Hereford Pale Ale.
HPA is a truly delightful pale ale. Its smooth on the palate, and boasts a citrus hop aroma leading to a balanced bitter finish.
Locally grown Target and Styrian Goldings hops play an important part in making this such a distinctive beer. With Maris Otter pale malt and malted wheat also being used, this is very much a pale ale with all the right ingredients.

Cask ale at Wellington, shared with Finn. Low, bubbly head over a bright golden body. Modest malt-fruity nose. Mixed taste of grainy malts, peaches and lemon. Leafy bitter end. Easy going (Birmingham 21.09.2016).

50cl bottle from Marks & Spencers, Camberley. A pale straw coloured pour with no head; musty citrus aroma; some life in the mouth with a lemony citrus taste and a grainy body; and a light grassy bitterness to finish. A rather uninspiring pale ale.

Very, very pale. Any paler and it would be water. Not a huge aroma and the initial flavour is a sourness which mellows into gentle dry malt. Not over-blessed with flavour or finish but this is nonetheless a pleasant and refreshing beer with no real vices.
