COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A meaty foreign-style stout, Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout is made with Colorado base malts, roasted barley, seven specialty malts, Styrian Goldings hops, and 25 pounds of freshly sliced and roasted bull testicles. Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout is an assertive, viscous stout with a rich brown/black color, a luscious mouthfeel and deep flavors of chocolate, espresso and nuts. The beer sports a savory, umami-like note and a roasty dry finish. Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout is 7.5% ABV and 3 BPBs. (That’s balls per barrel.)

Can as a generous extra. Thanks so much for this interesting piece. Pour has a super dark brown color with a ring of off white foam on the glass. Aroma has earthy sweetness that I just try to convince myself is not form the bull balls. Dark malt, chocolate, and salty dust. Not as bad as it sounds but boy is it a mental challenge to even take this in. Mouth feel is somewhat thin with lower side carbonation. Flavor has malts, fleshy salt, chocolate, and a lingering finish. Not much here outside of the novelty but it was great to open with a bunch of the guys and see the reactions when they learned what was in it. :)

Catching up on old ratings. My sister sent this from CO after hearing about the rocky mountain oyster brewing. Black/brown pour. Aroma had nice chocolate smell. The flavor had more coffee and lots of malt. Didn’t get anything from the RMOs. Kinda thin tasting, but still fun beer. Thanks sis!

On tap at brewery. Pours black with small head. Aroma of dark roasted malts and minerals. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of dark roasted malts, powder sugar, dark chocolate, slight espresso, malt balls. Overall big and bold with some bitterness mellowed by strong chocolate sweetness.

Can shared at Berliner bash 2013, poured a dark brown color with aromas of roast, earth, and light coffee. Flavors follow suit, thin on the palate for me, nice beer overall.

33 cl can @ PBF VIII
Aroma has toasted notes, hay, some malt, chocolate and cocoa. Flavour has chocolate, cocoa and licorice. Watery and quite easy-going considering the ABV. But I seem to like this anyway.
