COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Weiss beer is a traditional German unfiltered wheat beer. It contains 50% wheat malt and is hopped with Brewer’s Gold and Hallertauer hops. This beer has notable clove and banana esters which is a characteristic of this particular yeast strain, which we procured from the Hans Hopf brewery in Meisbock, Germany.

Sweet wheat beer. Aftertaste has hints of banana and the cloves give it some bitterness.

Weird. I wish it was fuller bodied. Had on tap at the historic brewpub. Wasn’t very cloudy for an unfiltered wheat.

On tap at brewery. Poured a hazy light yellow color, with a rocky white head. Aromas of light banana, bread dough and yeast. Smooth creamy banana up front that moves to a spicy pepper middle that ends clean. Light body and moderate carbonation.

Cloudy, with a decent sized white head. Smells, you know, wheaty. Like a wheat beer. Wheaty. Soft palate. , with the expected bubblegum and banana. Fairly typical, but still well made.

On tap, hazy yellow pour with white head, aroma has some nice notes of banana, clove, lemon, apricot and fruity notes, slight biscuit. Easy drinking, nice refreshing lemony, slightly tart, some nice clove, banana, biscuit note, but definitely tends toward the fruity side, finishing fairly sweet but tasty.
