Bottle - Deep black body with a dark brown edge, very creamy lasting mocca head; Excellent very well put together aroma, the more you put it to your nose the more refined and deeper it gets, it has everything: the creamy soft chocolate without being the least vulgar, the roasted malty fruitiness without being neither dry or floral, the piney resin without being to sharp, extremely nice; The body is very interesting but no at the same level as the nose and maybe a little more interesting then really good, there is some thing invisible about it either it is the texture being extremely soft at the same time as being a little watery, maybe it is the fine combination of balanced sweetness and dry roastedness; It finishes very long and grows in bitterness to something that last very and quite dry, at another level you have a cream like soft sweetness almost like condensed milk, it makes again a very interesting combination, this with a very light roasted bitterness makes again a very very interesting combination. Very very interesting and very good beer! cgarvieuk (24465) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 26, 2009

Beautiful black beer with a lasting brown head. Fine lacing. Aroma: smoked malt, but also fruity, chocolate, coffee, liquorice, hops in the background. Taste: really well balanced. More hoppy than most stouts, but it goes well with the burnt bitterness from the malt. This connection gives it a very distinct tar-like taste and being half finnish i really enjoy the taste of tar. Really good one. NoiZe (2323) - Zeist, NETHERLANDS - DEC 3, 2009
Black coloured brew. Hoppy, fruity aroma. The flavor is very hopped, some coffee, smoke and pleasant roasted maltiness. Balanced stout with a lot of hops. A bit a combination of an IPA and a smoky stout. Very nice.

Poured deep ruby near black like rock-oil, nice creamy lacing beige head with reddish tones. Peat like tarty, dry and smoked aroma with deep roasted grains, woods, some dark chocolate, cocoa. Medium bodied beer with a dry character, but an oily consistance. Surprisingly fruity hops on the palate after the deep roasted grainy flavor. Tart, wood aftertaste with ash and dry roasted feeling.
Bottle from Ale Yeah! This is a very dark stout with thick lacing on the walls of the tulip glass after a swirl. The aroma is a little musty with strong hints at chocolate, rum, molasses, and some meat. I didn’t really get the smoke until I took a sip. The smoke is more like that of a good Scotch rather than the meaty smoke one finds in many other smoked beers. It has hints of iodine, oak, chocolate, vanilla wafers. This is a very good stout, not what I was expecting and a pleasant surprise. I like it. olsvammel (7225) - Örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 13, 2013
Sample at SBWF 2013. Sweet and malty smell with whisky, oak and vanilla. Similar taste. Not very smoky, more sweet woody vanilla. Very nice.
