Draught at Fermentoren. Pitch black - white head. Lots of bourbon. Lots of sharp booze. Burned malts. Molasses. Dried fruity. Tarmac. Hard burned malts. Sweet notes. Lovely high malty. Rather dry and hard burned malty. Nice - but a bit too boozy.

Bottle #198. This was rate number 10,000 for my good beer buddy John (Saxo) who had to have a bourbon barrel aged beer for this occasion :o) Almost black with a big brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, wood, vanilla and bourbon. Flavor is very sweet and very bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with heavy alcohol. 091212

Bottle # 198 of 374 @ run to 10k session. Rating # 10.000! As I have finally learned to appreciate bourbon barrelled imperial stouts it had to be one of those, since I have done my share of downratings of those. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, bitter chocolate, fruits, vanilla, coffee and hops. Dry finish with some alcohol present.

Bottle #41/374 shared by esp0r with me, edvard and simonsen, september 29th 2012, thanks man! Body is all black, with a medium sixed beige head. Malty aroma with smoke, dark fruits, alcohol and coffee. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, Maybe a bit too high bourbon notes, licorice. Thick bodied, warm lasting roasted finish.

esp0r (2922) - NORWAY - OCT 13, 2012
Limited edition bottle numbered as #41 of total 371 shared at the daje & esp0r hits #1000 rates sessions.
Pours black with a tanned head. Smells of bourbon, vanilla, roasted malts and caramel. Taste is heavy sweet, quite boozy. The bourbon is a very dominating factor in the flavor. Moderate bitter, quite fuzzy mouthfeel. Compared to the non-barrelled version this is a step down. Unbalanced, too much bourbon. And the hops from the original is sadly gone (due to barrell of course)

Simonsen (1292) - NORWAY - SEP 29, 2012
Drukket på hytta til dag med entusiaster. Mørk, nesten svart, med mye skum, lukter utrolig godt smaker heftig av mørkbrent malt, frukt og karamell, smaker litt mye alkohol/bourbon

berlinoise2go (689) - NORWAY - SEP 22, 2012
Bottle (50cl) from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Huge, beige, bubbly head with good retention - settles as a thick film with some lacing. Black colour. Very rich aroma of roasted malt, licorice, coffee, whisky, chocolate, cream. Silky smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation with a slightly prickly sensation. Taste is initially semisweet and becomes gradually more bitter, finishes with a menthol-like, slightly papery dryness.
