Bomber to giant snifter. Scored in a trade and drinking during the inauguration ceremony. Pours dark black but not thick. Substantial head that dissipates and leaves a nice mocha ring around the edge. I’m not a fan of smoked beers, but this one is quite subtle on the smokiness, so if you love smokey you may not like it. Just tastes like a really good Imperial with a hint of smoke and some hop presence.
Bottle, from 2012. Black, nice and big light brown head. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, hints of smoke, dark red fruits, licorice, hints of pine. Heavy sweetness, medium bitterness, taste is dark chocolate, licorice, coffee, dark fruits, apricot. Full body, medium carbonation, nice oily mouthfeel, long finish with notes of espresso and dark chocolate. Fantastic! The_Osprey (7883) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 22, 2016
