UPDATED: APR 7, 2007 Looks is deceiving. Pours near black with faint ruby hues. Aroma is deceiving, based on the appearance I was expected this to smell good! Instead I’m greeted with the aroma of cooked vegetables, corn, adjuncts, (i.e stinky lager). Smells like Miller! Taste is nasty. Corn, adjuncts, stanky lager. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and a bit watery with full carbonation. PWalk (338) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 17, 2006
There’s an old saying in Brazil — I know it’s in Belize, probably in Brazil — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me twice, down the drain you go!
Dark brown color. Aroma is a combo of malt and hops. Sweeter than I thought it would be with a fair amount of malt in the flavor. Didn’t have as much of a robust body as I thought it would, a little thin instead. Ibrew2or3 (8860) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 15, 2006
12 oz bottle. Haven’t tried this beer in over a decade. Looks like a porter with opaque color and brown head. But it smells like a lager with crisp noble hops and grainy malt aroma. Taste just as it smells. Porter like sweet malt flavor but light crisp mouth feel of hops and lighter roasted malts. Really nice and refreshing flavored beer. Poured a black dark brown with very light head. Very little aroma sweet malt if at all. Was an average dark beer flavor of malt. kimcgolf (872) - Dacula, Georgia, USA - MAY 7, 2006
Not bad, just average. Didn’t get much aroma. Pour was dark brown/black with hint of red at bottom. Slight chocolate and malt taste, and okay finish, but it tasted a little watery. May try again some time though.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2006 I enjoyed this dark Brazilian beer in a pilsner glass. The beer had a dark creamy head and went down very smooth. The bitterness was not overwhelming. I enjoyed it with a plate of authentic Brasileiro "beef con arroz e feijão." Otimo!! tcruicks (282) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - MAY 3, 2006
It looks pretty good- a dark red/brown beer with a small tan (almost brown) head. The aroma is not special- and a bit offensive even. It has some sweet malty smells. The flavor is also sweet- maybe even caramel and strawberries. Its got the right amount of carbonation and a smooth texture. pnista (1007) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - MAY 3, 2006
Pours a clear red-black with a decent, but diminishing head. The aroma is standard macro, with of all things, sulfur! The palate is smooth enough, I have to give this beer that much. A light creamy foam in the mouth, really nice. The flavors are consistent with the palate, there’s nothing astringent or abbrasive. this beer borders on being cloying, but it’s not really rich enough to be too offensive. Just sweet! A bit of dark fruit, a touch of roast, but mostly just sweet. This is almost as sweet as a can of soda! I could drink more of this, but I’d need to be in the mood for soda... which is rarely. Pours dark brown with ruby around the outside. Thick tan head and decent lacing. Aroma of malt and coffee. Medium-bodied and fairly bitter. Mild coffee and hops, along with some stale malt flavor. The sweetness dominates after the initial bitterness wears off. Some sour notes that I did not particularly like. The finish is creamy and sweet, with chocolate and some roasted malt. Okay, but a long way from my favorite Schwarzbiers. Beerdedone (3460) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 24, 2006
UPDATED: APR 27, 2006 Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours inky black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet and slightly hoppy. Flavor is smooth, sweet, yet boring.
