Nice black color with thick, foamy tan head, fades slow, very nice sticky lace. Aromas of treacle, as advertised, gingerbread, malt, dry grass, and yeast. Nice even taste, sweet malt, bread, fruit, herbs and molasses, a sweet finish with moderate hop bitterness. Nice medium thick mouthfeel.

Dark pour, tan head. Mild taste, faded fast. Not very good, no real flavors that stand out. A disappointment

Dark and thick. Very interesting. Strong presence of coffee...molasses, maybe some chocolate. Definitely sweet, but balanced.

very dark beer with a strong after taste. Did not care for this beer and I doubt if I’d get it again

It was dark brown in color with a brown head that was diminishing. It had an interesting sweet taste that was very smooth.

Pure black body with a minimal pure brown head. Very nice aroma, mollasses, maple sugar, dark malts dominate. Excellent body, coffee, dark malts again, and syrup all combine for a nice flavor. Very cool ending, excellent. I’m very surprised about the low rating for this beer, it’s far better than indicated.

Bottle from Premier Gourmet. Deep ruby-brown with a large tan head that leaves lots of lace. Lots of malt on the nose, with a bit of coffee and bitterness in the background. Nice flavour – good roast of the top, some fruity sweetness, a hint of hops to finish. Not bad at all.

Very dark color with a caramel head. Hints of coffee, maybe chocolate, or even mole (sauce). At first glance it makes one wonder if the taste may knock you over, but it’s surprisingly easy to swallow. I enjoyed this contrast.

This is like a stout...and then some. It had a bit of a fruit flavor, but I can’t seem to put my finger on it.
