My favorite beer in China. Not too weak, but also not too bitter. I like the roasted malt taste and the hint of sweetness/chocolate.

Bottle from grocery across from gate of Fudan University on Guoding Rd. First thing I notice about this beer is a hop aroma that is pretty unusual for a Chinese beer (perhaps the famous "Loulan" hops that are mentioned on the label). Pours reddish brown. Grassy, herbal hop aroma that I can only describe as somewhat similar to Saaz - I wonder what varietal these Loulan hops are and what their provenance is - blends nicely with a carmel maltiness in the background. Flavor is well-balanced mildly sweet and fruity caramel malt, with just the slightest touch of light hoppy tang on the sides of the mouth in the finish. A very nice amber beer from a large brewery in a predominately muslim province that is really more a part of the far eastern Middle East than China as its conventionally understood.
