Clear, deep copper body with a small beige head. Good lacing. Moderate aroma of roasted malt, burnt sugar, and dark fruits. Quite strong flavour of roasted malt, burnt sugar, chocolate, flowers, and herbs. Light to moderate sweet, light malty dry burnt bitterness. Very soft carbonation, light body, not too watery texture. Nice and special, fun with the roasted malty notes when still being miles and miles from a stout.

Bottle from brewer's own stall at the Thame Food Festival. Brown with a thin tan head and a middling fizz. Chocolate and brown sugar with a touch of smoke and some oaky vanilla. There's a little red wine and some dry leaves. It's on the sweet side with just enough dryness and bitterness to balance it leaving a lasting roastiness in finish. Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, sweet malt, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. 
Cask at Milton Keynes Beer Festival; hazy dark brown pour with a bubbly light tan head, aroma has raisins, taste has dark fruits, stewed fruits.

Cask at the King’s Head, Norwich. Mid to dark brown... actually mid-dark to dark brown, translucent with a big loose beige-tan head.slight aroma of chocolate and oak chips. Lovely sweet malty taste. Shirt finish. A bit of fudge brownie on the aftertaste. I like it although it is a bit one-dimensional.

Rich mahogany brown with a decent light tan head.
Nose is toffee, brown sugar, biscuit malt, cocoa powder.
Taste comprises brown sugar, cocoa powder, earthy fruit notes, raisins, icing sugar, light spice, roasted tones.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light hop bite.

Cask gravity at the St Albans BEER festival 2016. A ruby red brown coloured pour with a a lasting loose light tan head. Aroma is dried apple, vanilla, nutty, brown malts. Flavour is composed of brown sugars, liquorice, mineral, dried fruits, Figgy pudding. Rains. Palate is semi sweet and thin. Lingering woody roast. Twig. Earthy aroma. Flat cola pour thin bubbly top. Nutty malty mouthful with a lingering mild licorice finish. I prefer beers with more body but this has a pleasant enough biscuity complexity
