Cask at the Kings Head, Norwich. Mid to dark brown... actually mid-dark to dark brown, translucent with a big loose beige-tan head.slight aroma of chocolate and oak chips. Lovely sweet malty taste. Shirt finish. A bit of fudge brownie on the aftertaste. I like it although it is a bit one-dimensional.

Cask at the Three Johns, 04/10/16. Rich mahogany brown with a decent light tan head. Nose is toffee, brown sugar, biscuit malt, cocoa powder. Taste comprises brown sugar, cocoa powder, earthy fruit notes, raisins, icing sugar, light spice, roasted tones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light hop bite. Decent for the humdrum style that is brown ale!

Earthy aroma. Flat cola pour thin bubbly top. Nutty malty mouthful with a lingering mild licorice finish. I prefer beers with more body but this has a pleasant enough biscuity complexity
