Possibly the best of the Yanjing beers, but no classic. Have consumed frequently in China and not been offended. As with most Chinese beers, heavily rice laden.

640 ml Bottle in Macau, Alc. >5.0%. "The official state beer of China". Grainy rice nose. The beer starts ugly unpleasant. Sweetish-thin, No bitterness, lots of sweetish grain and rice/corn. Watery sweetish aftertaste.

Poured from a clear bottle I did not have high expectations. The beer poured yellow, with a decent head that faded quickly. The aroma was a horrid skunk. The flavor though, was decent, with a slight sweetness it was drinkable, but that’s where it ends.

Beer5000 (6488) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 6, 2010
Pale golden body with a thin, diminishing white head. Weak aroma of grain and corn. Flavor is light grainy, some fruit, low bitterness and high carbonation. Drinkable, but not more than that.

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 4, 2009
Dark yellow colored with vanishing head. Sweet and papery aroma with lemony hints, some biting tangy tone also there. Thin to medium bodied, crispy but oily palate. Flavor is also lemony with paper and tangyness.

bembelembe (219) - Zagreb, CROATIA - MAY 30, 2009
Corny and rice beer. Grainy. Light hops. Crisp with grassy notes. Very low bitter aftertaste mixed with sweetness. Almost as if water used has too much chlorine. Pale yellow color, small head.

Starts off as a boring but unoffensive drink and has a strange artificial finish. I suspect I might’ve purchased a very old bottle. Wouldn’t drink it again, though. I do like the foil wrapping!

ogivlado (7810) - Zagreb, CROATIA - AUG 31, 2007
Bottled(630ml). –from E.Leclerc in Ljubljana. Clear bottle. Pale yellow coloured, small white head, fizzy. Strong bready nose. The taste is bready, salty and corny with tiny notes of hops. Watery and easy drinkable brew.

DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 11, 2007
Bottle from chinese supermarket. Nose is raw grainy with noteable alcohol even though its at about 2*c, hints of some sort of chalk based herb. Taste is really unrefined sweet hints of inky honey, i cant get any particular flavour from the malts or hops its just a big mingled mess of a beer, im grad i gave most of it to pauline.

ultraspank (867) - Alverca, Lisboa, PORTUGAL - MAY 14, 2007
Light nose of subtle hops, heavy grain, and some yeast. Pours a slightly sparkling pale golden. The stiff white head is mostly lasting with light frothy lace. The flavor is nice with a surprising complexity for the style; toasty, slightly zingy, and somewhat sweet. The light body is creamy and super soft.

faroeviking (10913) - FAROE ISLANDS - JAN 4, 2007
Bottle bought in Tokyo. Blond colour short fizzy head. Aroma is sweet and slightly hoppy. Flavour is rather thin but still bit crispy, bit malty and grainy, sweet hoppish finish. An easy to drink beer.
