Draft. Hazy amber color, medium beige head with decent retention. Aroma is dominated by the bourbon, on a background of vanilla and caramel. Taste has lots of bourbon as well. NikkTwist (3304) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Draft at Good Dog. Very hazy amber with a slim off-white head that left a few spots of lace then disappeared. Tastes as described - a bourbon barrel aged version on the Thomas Jefferson Ale. Lots of caramel flavor. Burnt tangerine peels. Dried apricots. Blonde leather. Orange varnish. Nice that the Bourbon brings a fuller nose and deepens the existing flavors without needing to bring an overpowering alcohol feel to the mix. hfmejias (1283) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - FEB 2, 2013
12 Oz. Bottle poured a dark amber little head (when away pretty quickly). Aroma of bourbon and malts. Taste of bourbon (predominant) caramel and malts and a little of citrus, it is sweet, dry towards the end. Overall an Solid nice beer. Poured from bottle. Aroma of vanilla cake, pepper. Good lookin amber, beige head, lacing. I taste lager hops, vanilla, pepper, spice. Just a bit of alcohol in the back. I wonder if they were brewing 8% back in TJ’s day? Nice lacing. Well done. I guess the founding fathers drank well. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - MAR 6, 2012
From Beerlicious iPhone app: Had on draft while in philly during beer week there. Burnt Milk Chocolate smell. It has a brown appearance that is clear with a frothy tan head. Light sourness from start to finish. Medium body with a creamy texture.
