From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange to brown with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and slight roasted malty. Bitter, roasted malty and slight caramelish. Sweet and lingering. Dry malty and roasted finish.

Draft at the source, I believe. Dark clear amber color, solid cream colored head. Aroma of toasted caramel. Taste is bitter toasted caramel.

Bottle at the brother’s stag. Pours clear reddish brown with a foamy off-white head. Simple stuff but pretty tasty. Some toasty bread, fruits, light berries and soft toffee. Light bodied with fine carbonation and somewhat creamy texture. Sweet finish with minimal hop presence. Easy drinking.

Bottle at Eulogy Tavern, PHL, 30/11/13. Dark chestnut brown with a moderate light beige covering. Nose is toffee, bready malts, biscuit, pinch of spice. Taste comprises bready malt, toffee, bread dough, touch of dark fruit, earthy. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation - over cooked. Adequate mild but nothing I’d want to return to.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Levi. Clear amber with a beige head. Aroma of malt, a bit of caramel, a bit of biscuit and light fruity notes. Sweetish flavor with malt, caramel, an acidic note, light fruitiness. Medium-bodied. Drinkable.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slightly hazy purplish brown color with a thin head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and nuts. Taste is very similar, but with some bitter hop notes and faint fruits as well. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.
