A malt and caramel nose, poured from a bottle a clear copper color with a lasting tan well laced head. Not much of a taste, just a hint of malt and caramel. A watery mouth feel with a light malt finish. demannu (451) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 19, 2017
Muddy amber color, thin head. No lacing. Aroma and flavor both malt forward. Flavor is timid. Body is very thin and smooth. Very easy drinking but not an overly exciting or interesting beer. john44 (3101) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 31, 2017

Backlog, Draft at Sugar House, seems like they have the freshest yards outside of the brewery which is a stones throw away. Pours amber with a medium tan head. Smell and taste are caramel bread, fruit, spice, and other malty stuff. Light carbonation on a medium body. Solid

Clear amber body is topped by a light beige head of moderate retention.
Soft, light toffee-tinged malts in the nose are joined by leafy, somewhat grassy hops adding spice and mild acidity. Lots of depth to the malt with emerging honey, biscuit and light caramel. Quite clean, not overly sweet and no alcohol.
In the flavor, it has a malty texture providing caramel, light toffee and honey-vanilla notes, with mildly fruity yeast notes and spicy-grassy hops adding modest bitterness and balance. Very nicely balanced, with a graininess that helps keep things dry and crisp on the finish. Clean. No diacetyl whatsoever in this bottle.
Poured from 12 oz. bottle.
Clear, rusty amber-brown with a small dusty-yellow head and good lacing.
Aroma of toffee, cola and brown sugar.
Taste of toasted malt, caramel, brown sugar and off-brand cola.
Medium body and low/medium carbonation.
Sweet and malt. Nothing fancy, but not bad.

Tap at Black Horse Tav in Conshy area w PJ after his game. Chill. Pours dark brown w low head.. woody veggie nose and loose skim milky mouthfeel holding a light nutty and leafy palate. Kinda brown. Easy and thin but not robust. Could drink a ton but not great. Eddiek1977 (7) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 17, 2016 does not count
Not bad, caramel notes are faint under the the malt and hops however like the advertisements say this is an ale that you can go a few rounds with.
