3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Sippin by the River ’05. Sorry not to have gotten to this before. Fresh, local porter, ture to the style, with a little bump. Beats Yuengling’s porter.

Bottle. Hazy brown color with a khaki head and nice lacing. Aroma and flavor were coffee, caramel, roasted malt and some chocolate. As it warms, I get some dark fruit. Not my favorite porter but I can drink it. Average

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours dark brown and black with a tan head and lacing. The aroma is coffee and fruit. The taste is coffee, chocolate, vanilla and tobacco. It’s smooth and creamy with a nice balance of bitterness and subtle sweetness. This is a nice porter and worthy of having George Washington’s picture on it.

Poured dark cherry brown - like a cherry cola; medium head with multi-sized bubbles. Caramel raisins, sweet and malty, (very) lightly roast coffee. Body was a little on the thinner side. Finished with some sourness.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Well finished porter. Sweet aroma, smooth palate. Clean finish. No off flavors. Not punchy or overly boozy. Not a centerpiece offering, in that it won’t win awards for stand-out flavor, but very smooth and drinkable, but likely much better for regular drinking instead of a tasting session.

Pretty interesting, roasty and complex porter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice Porter, not too overpowering with notes of oatmeal, a little light on the side for my taste however that should be a given as it is advertised as using George Washington's recipe from almost 250 years ago.
