Not to be boastful, but we honestly believe all other ales pale in comparison to ours. Dry hopped with an abundance of distinctive Simcoe hops, this straw colored pale ale is more drinkable than bitter, more aromatic than aggressive. Philly Pale, as its better known, is crisp, hoppy, and bursting with citrus. Philadelphia Pale Ale was named one of the best Pale Ales in the country by the New York Times.

Poured a hazy golden yellow with a huge, huge white frothy head. Lots of particles. Citris hoppy and fruity armoa. Tastes of apples and lemons mixed with malts. Different tasting - a little weak but overall not too bad.

Hazed amber with a small white head. Aroma is steeped with citrusy hops. Theres also a subtle sweetness behind the hop aroma. The taste is a nicely balanced mix of citrus fruit, mostly orange peel and lemon, along with a decent malt backbone. Mouthfeel is moderately bitter and a bit oily. Finish is expectedly bitter with only a minor amount lingering. Good beer!

Yards recently recreated this Pale Ale from scratch, and Im happy to say that this is now a great beer, worthy of the other great Yards brews. If, like me, you tried this one before and didnt care for it, try it now! Its very flavorful, though pretty bitter, and, if nothing else, the aroma will knock your socks off...

This, to me, was about as pale an ale as a pale ale could sale. Makes no sense i know. For an ale i felt there was a real lack of that kick that an ale should have. Thumbs down guys.

On draft at the Kegerator for Derby day. I remember this beer being uninspired, but this time I was impressed. Word is that the brewers reformulated Philly Pale Ale. Very fresh - kind of a little brother to the Yards IPA

Draft at Citizen's Bank Ballpark, called Yard's Philly Ale. Dark golden color, rocky white head. Mild hop aroma, bittering hops taste. Rather average mouthfeel.

Tap at Andy's. Cloudy yellow with a white head. Fruity nose. Low hops and refreshing. Lawnmower beer?

Mellow and very well balanced; malts are thick and sweet and hops are fresh, spicy and slightly woody.

Pours dark yellow. Aroma of hops, citrus, slight fruit. Finishes crisp, slightly dry. Mediocre.

I intend to visit this brewery soon and try some of their other products. This Philly Pale Ale however Paled in comparison to other ales I have tasted and at that price forget it. Still planning on trying out all of their stuff. Being from Philly i have to give em a try.
