Saisons were originally brewed to keep farmhands happy and hydrated during the warm summer months. True to the style, Yards Saison is a semi-unfiltered Belgian style ale brewed with distinctive Belgian yeast. Its delicate and fruity with a subtle spiciness. Styrian Goldings in the kettle lend a touch of hop to the palate, balancing out this highly drinkable version of the classic style. Available April through July or until supplies last.

Bottled April 1, 2013.
Appearance: The body has a slight haze to the amber hue, the head is thin and white with poor retention. The head settles into a bubbly coating.
Aroma: The aroma is earthy, spicy, and a bit odd. It has this odd aroma I cant place my finger on.
Taste: Slightly malty, light spices, and a bit odd. The aroma I smell I pick up in the flavor. Its not off-putting, but its not appealing.
Palate: Medium bodied, medium carbonation.
Overall: This just isnt doing it for me. This has an odd aroma and flavor that I cant put my finger on. Ill pass next year.

Very good summer beer, aroma is very nice, spicy and sweet. Very good flavors and they are well expressed cold. Nice aftertaste that keeps you wanting more, good characteristic of a summer beer. 6.5% makes its mark if you drink them like a pale lager though. Well made, and worth getting a case to take tailgating.

Tulip glass- an excellent farmhouse ale great aroma with hints of honey and a very sweet but not overwhelming taste. The aftertaste is solid as well, and overall is a different taste than the normal saison ale.

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours a hazy yellow & sparse white head. Has the characteristic malty / bread dough flavor with a Belgian. Pretty nicely done. Good mouth feel, and not watery.
