COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saisons were originally brewed to keep farmhands happy and hydrated during the warm summer months. True to the style, Yards’ Saison is a semi-unfiltered Belgian style ale brewed with distinctive Belgian yeast. It’s delicate and fruity with a subtle spiciness. Styrian Goldings in the kettle lend a touch of hop to the palate, balancing out this highly drinkable version of the classic style. Available April through July or until supplies last.

badwhale (420) - Bitterville, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 16, 2012
Bottle to shaker glass. Pours a hazy yellow & sparse white head. Has the characteristic malty / bread dough flavor with a Belgian. Pretty nicely done. Good mouth feel, and not watery.

odinstyr (806) - Hamilton, New Jersey, USA - JUN 26, 2012
Pours a clear gold with a 2-finger thick white head. Smells of herbs, a bit of a raisin-candy smell. Taste is sour, with a moderate bitterness and a smudge of sweetness.

3.4
Lowe1983 (1634) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - JUN 25, 2012
Pours a hazy, golden color with a white head. Aroma is of yeast, coriander, candied sugar, and some slight floral hops. Flavor is strong of the yeast, banana, and candied sugar. Not too strong on the finish as well.

I broke a 5 year hiatus from rating to Give my take on this beer. HORRID!

PhillyCraft (7939) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 17, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear, very active golden color. Medium white bubbly head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of cinnamon, german hops, coriander, fresh lemons. Taste of coriander, orange peel, nutmeg, peach, wood. Good soft mouthfeel. Finishes very clean and tasty. Reminds me more of a bier de garde and witbier combined in the overall flavor. Very underrated beer from Yards.

Draft and brewery fresh. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Yards beers to me always seem to "pop", this is a lively, mouth filling take on a saison. A bit bready, not too spicy but with the character spicing you would expect.

a solid sixpack. pours kind of an ugly color like dehydrated urine (girlfriend’s words, not mine) but with a decently full white head that sticks around nicely. smell’s a bit funky and not in a great way, like a old damp towel. tastes surprisingly bright and lively though, with some citrus notes on top of a nice breadiness. i’d say this beer has a bad start with appearance and aroma but still manages to drink just fine. i’d buy it again.

BVery (11364) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JUN 4, 2012
Tap at Iron Abbey. Light yellow pour with a large white head. Banana, clove, and yeast in this. Light crispness.

mansquito (6927) - Nueva York, New York, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria tap ($6): Pours an orange colour with a white head. Aroma is barely saisonesque; instead, it is mostly like a sweet and fruity Belgian Ale. Taste is much the same. This was good. It was refreshing and very drinkable, but ultimately, it was not particularly complex or novel.

3.4
r464 (2372) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Light and fruity, a bit tart, yeasty, and bread-like. Hints of spice, citrus zest, grass. Smooth and full bodied.
