3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. The pour was a clear medium brown with a slight orange hue and an average (1-2 finger) off-white creamy head that lasted a decent time, finally reducing to a large puddle with a medium collar and had good streaky lacing.
The aroma was of a toasted caramel malt, citrus hops and a doughy yeast with notes of toffee, dark fruit (grapes and plums) and possessed a slight alcohol tinge.
The taste very lightly sweet and a bit malty with a hint of toffee from the start, then slowly became exceptionally bitter with a note of dark fruit and a bitter citrus peel ending. The flavor lasted a decently long time after the swallow, with a strong bitterness left lying on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was between light and medium in body and slightly dry in texture with a medium carbonation.
Overall a good powerful tasting brew with a nice bitter malty fruitiness...
Pour from 12oz bottle. Clear, amber/golden color with lots of quick rising bubbles. Very fragrant. Malty flavor. Quite a yummy ale!

Draught. Hazy dark orange with small frothy off-white head, malt aroma with a bit of honey, medium carbonation, medium bitter taste, honey flavor, thin body, long ,malty finish. Nice brew. ginotarugo (70) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 21, 2017
This is indeed strong Ale. Pours a nice orange. 8% ABV is evident, with alcohol taste. Found myself chasing with water by the time I finished it. Other beers hide an ABV like this better (I.e. Troegenator). The Yards Presidential/Revolution Series is an interesting idea, just this one a bit strong tasting for me. BREWMUSKCLES (2744) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 11, 2017

Bottle at home, while I pondered my faint memories of high school history classes. I like ambitious, slightly out-of-the-ordinary beers like this. It reminded me of a gruit, with a malty and slightly vegetal taste. Unusual, but I liked it. Eddiek1977 (7) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 17, 2016 does not count
Nice aroma, goes down smooth however little bit of a bitter aftertaste but does not drown out the flavor.
