Bottled. Poured I don’t know. Some malts with a bunch of weird berries. Not that great IMO. joejames (510) - Jacobus, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 2, 2014
Bottle to shaker glass. Pours amber golden, two finger head with some lacing. Aroma of is peppery with honey and caramel notes. Taste is complex yeasty sweet, only a slight spruce bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly sticky mouth feel. Finishes sweet with notes of caramel, yeast, apple, sour cherry, honey and slight alcohol. Good beer but I would prefer more hops but I’m not T J. DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - SEP 28, 2014

12 ounce bottle. Deep orange gold color. Foamy beige head of two fingers high. Nice clinging lace. Aroma is slightly fruity malt with a slight rye grain and baked bread touch. Complex, fruity toasted malt flavor has notes of honey, rye, nuts and citrus hops. A mouthful of complexity. Some alcohol taste in finish. chicagobears (474) - Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA - AUG 31, 2014
Golden pour into Belle-Vue snifter. Up front aroma of honey and some floral notes. Bready with a spicy rye flavor. A nice honey sticky sweetness in the finish. It is amazing to think Thomas Jefferson was brewing ale of this quality. Feels like getting a taste of history.

On tap. Pours an amber-red with a white head. Sweet and tart aroma, of cherries, yeast, apples, malt. Crisp taste, lots of yeast, malt, berries. Lingering crisp yeast. Nice. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - AUG 25, 2014
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a semi-dark hazy reddish brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing running around in some clingy rings.
The smell had a light caramel sweet maltiness here and there. A little honey and Rye help to complement.
The taste took those previously mentioned flavors and gave a decent wheat in the flavor.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat there to provide a good rounded edge of bite.
Overall, pretty good American Strong ale I’d have again. Cuso (8786) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - AUG 25, 2014

Gold pour with creamy white head and lace. Aroma is sweet caramel malt and floral hops. Sweet caramel malt with light fruity esters. A touch of floral hops on the end. Medium body with food carbonation. A very light bitter finish too. I wish there was more hops here HighlanderOne (1352) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - AUG 23, 2014
