Cask at the Volunteers Arms, GBBF. Pours clear golden amber with a white head. Aroma of malt with fruit. Fruit taste. Sweet finish.

500ml bottle from Greenhams in Ryde: BBD 23rd Feb 18. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 13th Apr 17. Having a ’random tasting session’ with myself today: Belgium, USA, Japan, Spain and Scotland represented so far: Isle of Wight being the fifth beer in the game. Beige head on a clear, light amber body. Glad they mentioned ’Coriander’ on the label because I was trying to decide what the extra dimention was in the nose and taste: not too sure coriander would have been my guess to be honest. Light citrus notes balanced out by a good malty base and those coriander spicy notes. Liked it.

Pours clear amber with tall white head. Aroma of bread, malt, light honey, citrus. Taste is mild sweet followed by a light bitter finish. Light and smooth body with soft to average carbonation.

Slightly hazy amber color, small off-white head. Light aroma has fruityness and citrus. Light-bodied. Odd yeastyness in the flavor. Some flowery notes. Somewhat restless flavor.

500ml dark bottle, unfiltered, from Cask & Cork, Southampton. There appears to be the merest amount of bottle conditioning going on here. The beer appears to have been filtered, and then modestly seeded in the bottle. The result is not good as it’s neither clean and bright nor fresh, lively and characterful. The carbonation is almost flat, and stirring up the residual yeast in the bottle produces only a short lived activity. The beer doesn’t taste fresh, and is struggling to perform. I am aware of the citric and toffee flavours, but the earthy mustiness, and the generally flat, stale and lifeless condition of the beer dominates the drinking experience.

500ml Bottle - Golden in colour. Earthy and floral hops and dried fruit in the aroma. Fruity and malty taste with peach, apricot, toffee and sultanas.

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Amber with white head. Quite a fruity beer, flowery and quite hoppy in a tropical fruit manner. Good depth, a hint of herbs on the tip of the tongue. A decent beer.
