Yates flagship bitter taking its name from the address. It is primarily seasoned with Golding hops, but a charge of Fuggles is added late in the boil. This is differs from most brewers who use this classic combination, the Goldings are usually added last for the aroma.
Ingredients: Optic pale malt, crystal malt, chocolate malt, torrefied wheat. Goldings and Fuggles hops.

Sold as "Charity ale", but cask had this label. Nut brown-amber color, tiny beige head. Raisiny, nutty aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Woody, earthy hoppyness. Nice palate.

500ml dark bottle, filtered, from Cork & Cask, Southampton. A traditional bitter, and a damn good one. Early reviews of this were not positive, so I imagine Yates must have upped their game considerably because, even filtered, this is an impressive beer. Nutty and fruity - great balance of flavours. We have the deep toasted malts providing gentle nips of chocolate, moving up to plummy fruit, and reaching the higher delicate notes of elderflower fragrance. This is a great session beer that does what a good session beer should do, quenches the thirst, easy drinking, satisfies yet encourages further drinking, and also provides bags of flavour and character. Bang on! My sort of beer. Shame its filtered.

Bottle shared with McTapps. A fine brown brew with a classic aromas of nuts, some chocolate, raisins. Easyily drinkable with a cripsy, slightly sweetish background and fine balanced carbo. Brewed with love. Thumbs up.

Bottle from local co-op in Cowes. Pours out in a deep dark amber - light brown colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of nuts and malt. Taste of roasted barley, toast, nuts, malt, torf and acid berries. Refreshing and bitter finish. Enjoyed it.

Cask handpump at the King Lud, Ryde, IOW before getting Cat back to mainland. Light bronze colour, minimal head. Decent caramel malt aroma. Very flat carbonation - too flat, which spoilt enjoyment of this beer.

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Amber with white head. Light beer with a caramel note, some bitterness comes through from a slight earthy hop note. Some sweetness in the close. Just a little dull.
