Tasted on 7/13/12 on draft at the brewpub. Pours muddy tan-orange with a minimal white head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is dominated by the estery and spicy yeast, with nice citrus peel, apricot blossom, and a touch of caramel malt. The flavor is a touch sweet with pitted fruit and caramel, moving to bitter grapefruit peel hops and spicy yeast. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long spicy and intensely bitter grapefruit peel finish. ClassyBeagle (376) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 3, 2013
FROM NOTES: July 20, ’12
Poured fresh at Yazoo Brewery into a pint glass.
A: Strong notes of tropical fruits, sweet malts and floral notes. Belgian yeast notes.
A: Extremely cloudy amber, fluffy white head, decent lacing. When I say cloudy, I mean cloudy to the 10th power.
T: Initially follows the nose and feels a little light, but the hops quickly swoop in and dominate, finishing with a warm alcohol bite.
P: Light to medium body and low carbonation.
O: Odd mix of styles, strong hop bite and strong yeast flavors get a bit jumbled. VERY interesting beer. pineypower (3327) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - AUG 12, 2012
Growler shared by Erin at Dmac’s thank you! Pours out a moderate copper color with a small white head. Aroma is of pepper, some light fruity esters, lemon, and some nice citrusy hop bite. Taste is much the same, nice balance of a typical fruity, grainy saison with a nice dose of hops. I like it. dmac (6264) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - AUG 3, 2012
Growler shared by Erin. Poured a nice rusty orange/amber with a smaller white foamy head. Aroma of slight funk, sour citrus, farmhouse, bread and lemons. Drier bodied with soft carbonation and a dry finish. Flavor of funky lemons, bread, toast, farmhouse, citrus, Belgian yeast. Overall good stuff.
