3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Kroger. I have gone through about 4 of these. Pours a deep copper amber with an ivory head. Fruity ester and floral hop aroma. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The malt backbone is just like previous versions - caramel, toasty, with some german esque qualities. Spicy and grapfruity bitterness that carries through to the finish. Somewhat Sierra Nevadaish, but still has some of that green flavor that I don’t care for - but it seems to be getting less pronounced in recent versions. But I am just being picky -it’s still a good IPA. Otherwise I wouldn’t continue to buy it.
Tasted on 12/22/11 on draft at the Yazoo Brewpub. Pours bright, lightly burnt, orange, with a thick, rocky off-white head that slowly recedes to rocky lace. The nose is candied and bitter orange peel, like orange marmalade with a hint of bread and caramel, and some pine resin. The flavor is sweet and bitter orange marmalade up front, moving to the light caramel and bread, and finishing with intense resin bitterness. The body is medium with average, stinging carbonation, and a long orange marmalade and bitter resin hops finish. edgallow (4218) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 28, 2013

Deep amber pour. Light resiny hops and light bready malt aroma. Flavor mirrors aroama with a hard bitter finish and sweetness on the end. Medium body with good carbonation. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JUL 6, 2012
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is fairly faint, but there is a little bit of grapefruit and some iced tea notes. The flavor is more aggressive. I get some grapefruit and tea, as well as some biscuit malt and a medium amount of bitterness. Medium motuhfeel and medium carbonation. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 6, 2012
Bottle. Pours with a clear, burnt golden orange body with a small white head. Aromas are herbal, citrusy, grassy and slightly spicy hops. Some co-humulone bite. Nutty to grainy malt character. Flavors are of tea, malty, faded hops, light citrus, with a medium nutty/toasted malt character. Lightly earthy/woody finish. Lively bubbles, dry.

(12oz bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a medium cream head. Aroma of herbs, orange, and grass. Flavor of herbs, grass, nuts, grapefruit, and pine with a dry, bitter finish. Reynolds314 (3459) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 6, 2012
This combination of hops creates the exact flavor of grapefruit but incredibly bitter. Its definitely interesting but isnt all that pleasant to drink. I love the concept of these hop project beers. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - MAR 3, 2012
This is bitter orange juice, creative and tasty but that finish is way too bitter. Solid 3.5 here
