The tan lace clings to the glass as you raise the pint to your lips. Close your eyes and smile as the rich espresso notes fade to a dry, roasted finish. Exceptionally smooth and satisfying. Made with English Pale malt, roasted barley, black patent malt, and flaked barley. Hopped with East Kent Goldings and Target hops, and fermented with our English ale yeast.

phaleslu (10452) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 12, 2010
Draft pint at the new brewery. Pours a nice dark coffee brown with a tiny tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of roasted malts, espresso, brown sugar, toast, and caramel. The flavor is also roasty and dry, with notes of espresso, brown sugar, and caramel. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, roasty finish. Very solid, straight-up-the-middle dry stout.

DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2006
Barrel Draught from the jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 01/10/2005 Black slightly rich on the palate and strong in alcohol. Some dryness in a roast flavoured finish.

Suttree (6466) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 1, 2005
Black, thin brown head. Really pronounced coffee aroma, with notes of prune. Tastes a bit sweeter than I was expecting, with nice flavors of coffee and smoked bacon (no, really). Dries out in the finish. Nicely enjoyable stout. Draft at the Flying Saucer, Nashville.

jgb9348 (6382) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - APR 3, 2004
Pitch black coloured body with a creamy medium-sized light brown head. Aroma of malt and little else. Full-bodied; Strong tastes of coffee and roasted malt linger throughout the mouthful and some sugar prevails at the end, but a very simple finish. Overall, a nice example of a dry stout, especially from Tennessee! I had this beer on draught at the Flying Saucer in Nashville, Tennessee.

decaturstevo (6339) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - DEC 22, 2008
Almost black pour with tight tan head and lace. (cask) Light chocolate malt on the nose. Powdery cocco flavor with a good hard/medium bitter. Thin and slightly water. A beer that had a bit of an ashy texture. Overall pretty good. I will try again not on cask.

sonnycheeba (6214) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 14, 2014
Bottle. Pours deep, dark brown with creamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate and roast malts, faint vanilla and caramel, light dates, and faint mixed nuts. Flavor is chocolate and roast malts, faint earthiness, faint dark fruit esters, and faint toffee; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
