3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ Papsø. Pours a dark ruby brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.
Poured from a bottle (dated 4/18/17), Sly creates a big head that dissipates at a leisurely rate but leaves no lacing. Resulting aroma is mostly chocolate and a little freshly baked bread. Body is lighter than I expected and the taste is mildly sweet with a hint of dryness. Not one I’d drink all night but one is just fine. Ahuth (665) - Illinois, USA - JUN 3, 2017
Draft pours dark. The palate is full body with the taste rye and chocolate. shigadeyo (3795) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 18, 2017
5/18/2017 (12 fl oz bottle): Semi-sweet and dark chocolate, roasted malt, wood char; opaque black color with a tan-colored crown; char, dark chocolate, espresso roast, fruity and spicy maltiness in the middle... tobacco, cocoa, chocolate pudding, and a hint of black licorice in the finish; medium body, calm mouthfeel, slightly tingly at times; extremely rich and flavorful, absolutely fantastic rye porter, I love this beer! jbruner (5401) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - APR 15, 2017
Pours a deep brownish black on tap with creamy tan brown head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of mild earth and chocolate notes over a hint of rye. Taste is more toward the chocolate, nice roast, solid. A good porter. kevd193213 (992) - Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA - APR 9, 2017
On draught at the brewery. Deep brown opaque pour with a nice creamy head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt. Very drinkable with a nice clean finish with that rye flavoring. Outstanding.

Black pour with a minimal tan head.
The aroma is burnt coffee and a bit of spice.
The flavor is roasty and bitter.
Light roast and some sharp grainy rye like black bread. Black pour with decent head. Bitter fibish. Some caramel. Bittersweet finish. Tap at brewery. oobawa (1789) - Tennessee, USA - FEB 9, 2017
Not sure what’s going on here, but this bottle pours one of the ugliest glasses of beer I’ve seen in a while. Decent color, sure, but with a tiny head that disappears almost immediately and no lacing whatsoever. Looks kinda like flat Dr. Pepper. Not good. Smells better, with notes of chocolate and coffee, and the taste is okay, offering a good dose of cocoa-laced roasted malt and a slight cherry tang, Finishes with a modest mocha and peat-laced sweetness. Not picking up much rye, and the texture is in dire need of some antidepressants. Pass. AndyW68 (1632) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - OCT 29, 2016
