This is one of those beers I search out. It can be hard to find in the Nashville area, but worth searching for.

Very tasty beer. I am an avid coffee and beer drinker and this beer reminiscent of coffee. Dark and full of flavor. Love it!

12 oz bottle poured into a frosted pint glass. Very little aroma that I could descern, but then they were smoking in the Hair of the Dog. Chocolate and malt flavours with an excellent mouth.

Dark chocolate color. Thick creamy tan head. Chocolate on the nose. Low corbonation. Light body. Very chocolatey. Clean finish.

Beautiful garnet hue. Spicy mouthfeel with a balanced sweet/dry finish. This brew is on the higher end of ABV offered by Yazoo. This beer is my personal favorite, but the recipe is very similar to other microbrewed Rye Ales in other parts of the country.

Growler courtesy of lithy. Pours dark brown with a ruby red tint and a lasting tan head. Smells of some rye, sweet, earthy, a fruity hint, roasty, some molasses touches. Tastes of rye, nutty, spicy, some metallic touches, light citrus. Full bodied with a bite on the finish. Enjoyable!

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2006 One of the best Porters I’ve enjoyed, and I’m proud to be able to find it in "my backyard". Nice and rich..chocolaty. Like the stout, you will not find a better brewed porter in middle Tennessee in my opinion.

Dark brown pour. Slight tannish head that persists. Roast malts and slight fruity aroma. Toasty, bready flavor, with some chocolate and coffee. Medium body and pretty dry. Nice beer.

Poured black with a tan head that has a thin layer lasting. Aroma of coffee and chocolate malts with a faint hint of rye as it warms. The flavor found toasted malts and chocolate. Full body with a malty aftertaste

On draught at the brewery. Deep brown opaque pour with a nice creamy head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt. Very drinkable with a nice clean finish with that rye flavoring. Outstanding.
