Poured black with a tan head that has a thin layer lasting. Aroma of coffee and chocolate malts with a faint hint of rye as it warms. The flavor found toasted malts and chocolate. Full body with a malty aftertaste
Poured from a bottle (dated 4/18/17), Sly creates a big head that dissipates at a leisurely rate but leaves no lacing. Resulting aroma is mostly chocolate and a little freshly baked bread. On draught at the brewery. Deep brown opaque pour with a nice creamy head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt. Very drinkable with a nice clean finish with that rye flavoring. Outstanding.

Not sure what’s going on here, but this bottle pours one of the ugliest glasses of beer I’ve seen in a while. Decent color, sure, but with a tiny head that disappears almost immediately and no lacing whatsoever. Looks kinda like flat Dr. Pepper. Not good. Smells better, with notes of chocolate and coffee, and the taste is okay, offering a good dose of cocoa-laced roasted malt and a slight cherry tang, Finishes with a modest mocha and peat-laced sweetness. On Tap at Yazoo Brewpub, Nashville, TN, 5.5.16. Very dark red-brown. Roasty, chocolate and a little black pepper in the nose, roasty, chocolate and a little bit of hazelnut in the mouth. Full body, fizzy, roasty and chocolatey finish.
