A: Pours a very dark brown color with a finger of mocha colored head that has nice retention.
S: Quite smokey. A touch of salt along with the burnt wood and smoke. Lots of roasted malt with a hint of cocoa. There’s a light fruitiness to the aroma as well, which I wasn’t anticipating.
T: Sweet toffee and dark fruits up front before the smoke takes over. Lots of smoke, wood, and a light saltiness. A bit of nuttiness, mostly almonds, with mild chocolate flavors.
M: Medium bodied with a medium to high carbonation.
O: Never really a fan of smoked beers, but this one adds a nice little fruitiness.
