COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This India Pale Ale (IPA) is an aggressive wee beast that is dedicated to our friend Joseph Wood of Liberty Brewing and to all those hopheads who love drinking IPA day in, day out. Just as the term digital is all about zeroes and ones, the concept of IPA is all about malts and hops. Enjoy the rich golden malt backbone of Digital while you can... then feel it closing in as the fruity Motueka-grown hops dominate your palate and don’t ever fade away. IPA as it should be. Can 330 ml from Drinkers Paradise, Kentish Town. Aromas are rich of sweet, tropical fruit such as peach and orange. Big white head an orange-golden hazy body. Taste is bitter and hoppy with lots of fruity notes. Overall a good IPA!

Where: Pizzeria Paradiso, Hyattsville, MD. How: Sampler pour on tap. Pours a medium golden amber with a creamy one finger white head with excellent retention and thick lacing. Aroma of orange family and lighter mixed citrus, piney and citrus hops, light bready malt. Flavor is distinct citrus hops, light lemon, mild grapefruit rind, faintly floral. The flavor seems thin at first, but develops slowly and finishes with several nicely balanced citrus, fruit and hop flavors. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Although the flavor seems subdued at first, the finish and aftertaste and surprisingly complex. A nice change from the standard American West Coast hop bill; not quite as challenging or rewarding, but pleasant and lemon citrusy. A nice off-beat IPA.

Draught at Stoneworks, Peterborough, Cambs. Clouded orange with white head. There are big resinous notes to this with a bitter orange flavour. Sharp and quite hard / edgy, full depth of malt in the background, rounded. Very decent indeed.

Can from JK Fine Foods. Pours with a slight haze to the yellow copper colour. A nice fluffy off-white head. Aromas are top notch. Sweet tropical front with pineapple and grapefruit. A mild dry herb and a fresh floral finish. The tastes amplify the strength with grapefruit-sweet bitterness and a little warm alcohol sting. Fruitiness is the main element but a strong green bitterness to balance. It feels smooth medium bodied with a gentle to moderate dry prickle. The lovely tropical Lilt nose woos you but it builds and builds its green floral resinous finish. Hoppy and nice.
