Enjoy the rich golden malt backbone of Digital while you can... then feel it closing in as the fruity Motueka-grown hops dominate your palate and don’t ever fade away. IPA as it should be. Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi) web shop. Fruity nose, some citrus, grass, and tropical fruit. Orange/amber color. Hop-heavy intial. Mild malt backbone. Hop bittering re-emerges but does not linger very long. Medium body. Hops are really the focus here. Seems a bit thin for all the bittering.

Keg at Northern Monk Refectory. Pours pale gold, light haze, with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus oils, light resin. Taste is light bitter, oily hops. Bitter finish. Solid.

Cloudy light Amber colour. Smells oddly like marijuana. Taste like it smells. Like a college kids trifecta.

This one is quite the pale malt bomb. No pine or citrus at all. Leaves you with a bitter hoppy finish. Pours cloudy orange with a thin white head. Had out of a 11oz bottle. Below average

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear gold with a tiny head that lingers throughout. Mango, passion fruit, papaya and grass dominate the nose. Taste is fairly similar with lots of tropical fruit, grass, tea leaf, wood. Very little carbonation and the mouthfeel is very tea-like. Nice lingering bitterness on the finish.

Golden color. Nice thick frothy head. Very heady grassy nose with some tropical fruit notes. The mouth is superbly hoppy, clean, leafy with lots of pears, tropical fruit. Off dry big bad lingering, spicy hoppy finish. Even better that it is 5.7%. Massively in your face bitterness but not without balance. Extremely well executed. A work of art and I dare say my top 10 IPAs of all time. Amazing

Bottle. Pours hazy amber, medium beige head, dissipates fairly quickly with decent lacing. Aroma is pretty malty, melon and hints of citrus. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, lots and lots of caramel and bready malts with a melon forward hoppiness with some dirty pine notes as well. Medium body. Muddy and disconnected. I suppose perhaps this is old, but it certainly is not good.

From tap. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, slight toasted and malty. Bitter, smooth fruity and slight caramelish. Bitter and slight herbal. Dry and crisp hoppy finish.
