A lmited amount of kegs were released in NZ as Motueka Warrior (as a part of the annual Motueka/Yakima collaboration with Liberty Brewing)

The beer was then brewed for NZ, Aus and Italy under the Digital IPA label. It will be available throughout the southern hemisphere summer of 2011.

NZ Bottle:
This limited-release India Pale Ale (IPA) is an aggressive wee beast that is dedicated to our friend Joseph Wood of Liberty Brewing and to all those hopheads who love drinking IPA day in, day out.
Just as the term digital is all about zeroes and ones, the concept of IPA is all about malts and hops. Enjoy the rich golden malt backbone of Digital while you can... then feel it closing in as the fruity Motueka-grown hops dominate your palate and don’t ever fade away.

IPA as it should be.

CacheManyHose (734) - HONG KONG - JUL 30, 2014
From Sips. Translucent dark orange-copper with creamy looking off-white head. Smells of overripe pineapple, bubblegum/slightly artificial sweetness, hop. Tastes of crisp malt, hop, some soap and the same bubblegum, a little spice in the finish. Body is a little light, almost frothy. Sweetness is not cloying but quite odd; other flavours not big enough to be that interesting.

HKdIPA (817) - HONG KONG - JUL 30, 2014
Bottle from Sips at home. Hazy dark orange amber pour with dense head and lasting lacing. Aroma is surprisingly candy sweet. Like hops and donuts - like a pineapple that's been sitting out. Interesting. Taste is pleasantly fruity hops but with some underlying tanginess that's not that good - again an overripe fruit flavor. Probably the best Yeastie Boys I've had but have been a bit let down overall by the 3 offerings available in HK at the moment.

Jado (798) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - JUL 28, 2014
From 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear honey-amber with a small white head and vigorous carbonation. Aromas of toffee, baking bread, peaches, white wine and flowers. Taste starts out with some sweet caramel and peach before a zesty grapefruit bitterness in the mid-palate. Falls away a bit after that but there’s a touch of fresh white grapes at the back end. Clean finish with a lightly spicy aftertaste. Not bad but a little out of whack.

This beer is a light amber colour with a very small short lived head. It smells of citrus and caramel. The taste is a little off. Just saw it is 3 months pad the best before date. Maybe that's it. Not great.

OK this is one of those ratings... bought this in Hong Kong but there was as much barnyard (and I mucked for a year in my late teens so I know more than I’d rather admit) as hops in the nose, lots of rustic barnyard there, this is as much Saison Dupont as IPA (looking over the recent and top ratings I don’t think that’s the intention or regular taste). I am therefore drinking a different beer than intended, with pineapple and earth and barnyard in the flavour, but I love it. 4.0.

Beer of life, dude.

boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 20, 2014
Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours clear golden with a small white head that has decent retention. The aroma is a powerhouse of pineapple and mango.. a touch of honey, a bit floral. Really inviting juicy nose. The taste on this is fruity as it gets. Pineapple, peach, mango, apple juice, and a bit of sweet honey. This is very good but a bit over the top on the sweetness.

Strykzone (7422) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 21, 2014
12 ounce bottle. Minimal foam on this clear golden beer. Served at 42.9F which is too cold. First sniff is of clover honey. I also taste that honey. It is along with floral notes and some citrus, but not a lot. Cereal and grain. Not a lot of excitement.

Patrickctenchi (6625) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - MAY 10, 2014
Bottle: Clear, amber with a small, off-white head. Semi-tropical fruits,...soft/sweet aroma. Taste is mild, sweet fruit....very malty. Light fruit rind bittering. A very nice, tropical, smooth IPA. Extremely Tasty.

oliodnb (662) - ITALY - MAY 9, 2014
Clear golden color, slightly cloudy, quickly disappearing white head. Big fruity, sweet smell (apricots, pineapple, grapefruit) that fades away as the beer warms up leaving space for some malts and caramel. Taste is again quite fruity with honey-like sweetness, citrus and a not too heavy dry final bitterness. Once again the label is misleading describing this beer as "aggressive".

Theydon_Bois (19720) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2014
Bottle at home, thanks to Wingman Willis for muelling, 02/05/14. Clear golden amber, moderate off white covering that retains. Nose is floral hop, citric peel, light pine, caramel malt, light honeycomb. Taste comprises floral hops, tangerine, light apricot, straw, pine, caramel malt, juicy hop tang, citric pithdom. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the close. Pretty so so IPA, not really doing it for me but not unpleasant.
