Bottle from Cov M&S. Black with ruby glints and a slim beige foam. Aroma of ink, bitter chocolate and burnt wood. Dark prune-like fruit pipetted with ink over a burnt toast and pistachio base. Hints of soapy hop and blueberry. A bit thin and simplistic with deeply roasted malt predominating and licks of booze at the edges. Tasty though.

Bottle from a random shop at Dalston Junction. Brewdog version. BB 03.03.2018. Medium dark brown with steady tan head. Roasty hoppy aroma, malts, slightly pissy of the hops. Tastes roasty sweet with hops in the finish. Slightly rough on the palate but otherwise excellent.

Vizes test melyről képtelenség leválasztani a gyümölcsösséget ami aztán keser smokyba megy át. Jeles.

Draft 0.15l at BierProeflokaal In De Wildeman Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 16.11.2016. Pour it dark color with small black head. Aroma yeasty, funky, little bit odd hoppy feel. Taste sweet chocolate, roasted malt, lots of hoppy herbal feel on the back, bitterish finish, easy drinakble, light to medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, bitter.

Zwart. Kleine lichtbruine kraag. Geur een aparte combi van koffie, groenten en ananas. Smaak fruitige hoptonen, koffie, tabak, groenten. Behoorlijk bitter.

Gangstergafje (1142) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - DEC 1, 2016
The beer has that lovely porter looks, which I love. The color of the beer is black, with a ruby red and brownish glow. The beer seems quite clear. On top of the beer a small layer of foam with the color of roasted almonds is poured. The foam collapses quickly, leaving a thin drape. The smell of the beer is mild. I smell some coffee, some roasted malts and some smoke. The smell gets stronger after a while. The aroma of oak woad (a barrel aged touch), and nice savoury salty caramel aroma join the bouquet. The taste is stronger from the start. There is a delicious salty caramel flavour. I also taste the smoke, oak wood and roasted barley. I also taste coffee. It has that lovely salty sea thing a porter can have. Its a blend between sweet malts, bitter hops and salty roast flavours. Its beautiful brew that gets better with time. At first it’s a bit to mild; at the end it’s a flavour inferno.

330ml bottle. Pours black without head. Lots of plums, figs, little soy sauce, little chocolate. Quite savoury, with a prominent bitterness. Really quite nice.
